The Wapello County Historical Museum is located at 210 West Main Street in Ottumwa, Iowa and Wapello County. Wapello County is located on the scenic Des Moines River in Southeast Iowa. Ottumwa, the largest city in Wapello County, is home to a population of approximately 25,000 residents. The museum building, an active rail depot, houses the lobby for Amtrak railway.

- From Highway 63N/S BUS: Take W. 4th Street east to N. Washington Street. Turn right onto N. Washington Street and proceed to River Street. Our parking lot with easy access to the museum is located on the right.
- From Highway 34E/W: Take the Church Street exit north to the intersection of S. Market Street and W. 2nd Street. Turn left onto W. 2nd Street and proceed to River Street. Our parking lot with easy access to the museum is located on the right.
